Prof. M. Levent Kavvas

Distinguished Professor, Director, Hydrologic Research Laboratory, and J. Amorocho Hydraulics Laboratory, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of California
ASCE Fellow, Registered Professional Hydrologist

Dr. M. Levent Kavvas holds a M.S. in Civil Engineering (Hydrology and Water Resources Program) from Colorado State University, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Hydraulics and Systems) from Purdue University. At the University of California, Davis, he is Distinguished Professor, Gerald and Lillian Orlob Endowed Chair Professor of Water Resources Engineering, Director of the Hydrologic Research Laboratory, and the UCD J. Amorocho Hydraulics Laboratory. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and Registered Professional Hydrologist. He is a member/member of the Editorial Board of several international associations/journals and also was founding Editor-in-Chief of ASCE’s Journal of Hydrologic Engineering, a position he held from 1995 through 2004. Prof. Chih-Huang Weng

Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, I-Shou University

Prof. Chih-Huang Weng is a faculty member of the Department of Civil and Ecological Engineering at I-Shou University, Taiwan. He received his MS and Ph.D. degrees in Environmental Engineering from The University of Delaware (USA) in 1990 and 1994, respectively. He has published over 80 papers in SCI journals and 35 of them H-index with 3695 citations in Mendely database. He serves as the editor, editorial board member, and guest editor of several academic journals, such as Coloration Technology and Agricultural Water Management. He has also organized several international conferences. His research interests focus on using advanced oxidation processes, adsorption, and electrokineitc technologies for the treatment of wastewater and for groundwater remediation.


Prof. Yu-Pin Lin

Distinguished Professor, Department of Bioenvironmental Systems Engineering, National Taiwan University
Visiting Professor, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Harvard University

Prof. Yu-Pin Lin received his Ph.D. degree and Master degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. Currently, he is Distinguished Professor of National Taiwan University, Taiwan and Visiting Professor in School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Harvard University, USA. He serves as an editorial board member for several international peer-review journals, especially the Editor-in-Chief of Taiwan Water Conservancy, Associate Editor of Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, Section Editor-in-Chief of Environmental Engineering and Public Health, etc. He is active in academic exchanges and serves as Conference Chair or Technical Committee Member for many international conferences. He has published over 100 papers in peer-review journals with impact factors and is author of five books. His fields of interests focus on spatial statistics and modeling in environmental and ecological systems, freshwater monitoring and modeling, landscape ecology in watershed management and planning, ecohydrology, groundwater modeling and the like. Prof. Ming-Hung Wong

Research Chair Professor of Environmental Science, The Education University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China

Prof. Wong is currently Advisor/Research Chair Professor of Environmental Science, The Education University of Hong Kong; Distinguished Visiting Professor of School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Southern University of Science and Technology; Emeritus Chair Professor of Hong Kong Baptist University, and Editor-in-Chief of Environmental Geochemistry and Health (Springer). His research areas included environmental and health risk assessments of persistent toxic substances, ecological restoration of contaminated sites, and recycling of organic wastes, with emphasis on upgrading food wastes as fish feeds. He has published over 700 papers, edited 26 books/special issues of scientific journals, and has successfully filed 5 patents. He has been awarded two DSc Degrees, based on his publications, by University of Durham and University of Strathclyde (both UK) in 1992 and 2004, respectively.
